Skandinaviska Enskilda Banken AB (Swedish pronunciation: [skandɪˈnɑ̌ːvɪska ˈêːnˌɧɪlːda ˈbǎŋːkɛn], "Scandinavian Individual Bank"), abbreviated SEB, is a Swedish financial group for corporate customers, institutions and private individuals with headquarters in Stockholm. Its activities comprise mainly banking services, but SEB also carries out significant life insurance operations and also owns Eurocard. The bank was founded and is controlled by the Swedish Wallenberg family through their investment company Investor AB.


A current unhappy employee says, "SEB is a scared organisation. There is no mutual respect from senior management. No honest credit to hard working staff. Great variation in leadership skills. HR comes across as very biased in favor for the employer."

Another current employee says, "Poor local management [at SEB] in operations (treasury/Corp action/Settlement) who put their own objectives in front of what is good for the company. The managers bring in their own people with questionable backgrounds and knowledge. They look after each other but the company and organisation really suffers from inefficiencies and skewed work load with a few selected doing nothing and delegating everything away. Push back culture, minimum effort approach to what is needed. Sadly the rest of the company has no idea what's going on."

"Leadership is lacking and in dictator form, not a good environment to be creative and produce results. Unfortunately, only the lucky few were developed with training at HQ. Turnover is extremely high, both voluntary and by Company decision (job elimination). The environment is not positive and morale continues to deteriorate. Although there is some flexibility you pay for that as the job demands excessive hours and workload due to job cuts. Corporate just keeps ignoring the situation the US, which continues to decline. Company values are on paper, not in practice."

"In a word - French. This is a VERY French company with all the cultural nightmares that go along with it. Corporate managment in France has little to no interest in what the US thinks about how to grow the business and basically wants everything that's done in France done in the US. Arrogance is not a cliche, it is real...French managers who visit the US once or twice a year think they know everything based on their knowledge of France. Getting decisions from French headquarters is the most laborious process possible. The French culture places great importance on examining all aspects of a problem before taking any decisions (the famous French preference for diplomacy), which may work in France but it is killing the business in the US, which requires speed and flexibility. The company has recently changed and two American presidents have left the company in the US and were replaced by French imports, so it is now all French all the time. One facility in Boston has been closed with all positions moving to West Orange, NJ or Cannonsburg, PA at the All-Clad facility. There is no respect for the US team by the French, who clearly look down on the US as a weak and inferior market. The French insist on doing everything the French way and then place all the blame on the US team when it doesn't work. Morale used to be fairly good when the two American presidents were in place but now people are just putting in their time and hoping to keep their jobs."

"1) HR leads with what’s in their own personal interest or what reflects good on them, not for the company or the people working there 2) No clear strategy is put into place 3) Some decisions are undertaken to satisfy directors and International team in France, not aligned with the market and the consumers’ habits 4) Turnover and/or dissatisfaction is high because people are overworked and the environment isn’t healthy (there is no trust between directors and their teams) 5) Some departments are a complete mess, like marketing because of lack of market understanding and basic human rights with severe micromanagement tendencies (expectations are that everyone is connected to work 24/7, results should be immediate, decisions are enforced on colleagues even if that’s not the correct path to take) 6) The only reason a person could join is to understand how not to operate 7) Promises are made when the company is sending the final offer to entice people but these compensation promises don’t pan out"

"This company is probably one of the most unprofessional companies ever . I was in the company for 8 months. I’ve gave this job my all and I was just terminated today for something I had nothing to do with. One of our clients managers was slandering my name and I was let go cause of contracts where being threatened to be cut. "Worked 2 days no communication at all didn't know where I was supposed to go who I was supposed to be trained by. First day of work I was told to go to walgreens but didn't tell me that I was supposed to be in plain clothes, showed up in full uniform and firearm. I was hired as an armed guard. Second day I was on my way to work wasn't scheduled till 3pm and it was 2:30 and they had said my trained was looking for me and he was not even there!! So they had me go back to the store waited over an hour and a half for my trainer and he didn't show up. I ended up leaving and 20 mins I was almost home they called and said he was there waiting for me..... I told them I had left and they were swearing and screaming at me ……. that's when I told them that I quit because they are horrible and unprofessional. I do not recommend this place ever.pay was goodlack of communication unprofesstional and rude staff"

"The office are bunch of idiots very disorganized they have sent me to wrong locations and try to make it my fault not enough hours noot enough pay if you need to reach them they don't open till 11am and every time you try to reach them they are always busy and i have to call back the scheduler forgets to put people on the schedule for the week one supervisor tells you your off on monday and another supervisor tell you your working on monday no communication at all if you have to attend training you don't get paid for it no medical no raises no union they don't people on the payroll they hire as a independent contractor so they don't have to pay taxes on their workers so when go do your taxes you have to pay a self employment tax if your looking for a job this company is the worst of the worst .when i'm able to go homewhen i have to go to work"

"Waiting times of up to six weeks for the most basic corporate services, account managers don't answer their phones and don't deem it necessary to call back. Take your business elsewhere."

"Terrible customer service, arrogant staff verging on the incompetent. They handle corporate accounts just as badly as private accounts and the bank is therefore a bad choice for either party. Don't expect a helpful or even timely response if you ever happen to need help. Caveat emptor!"
